Bike Dykes
2022
Documentary Photography
Bike Dykes celebrates queer marginalised bodies in cycling. The first documentation of Bike Dykes was exhibited at Salt Deptford as a part of the 2022 Deptford X festival.
Bike Dykes is a queer grassroots cycling group that encourages women, trans and non-binary people to cycle in London. This group is primarily focused on creating space for FLINTA* cyclists on the road. The aim is to upskill the LGBTQIA+ community and to promote more queer cyclists across London as well as serving as a social community group. We run monthly social rides, regular bike mechanics workshops, riding skills workshops, and collaborations with other cycle organisations and individuals.
Bike Dykes began in 2022 and has since grown into a community of over 300 members. We are proud to have received funding from Groundworks London (2023) and London Cycling Campaign (2025) to support our mission.
